Focuses on psychology as a science. For example, the DGPs has published suggestions for psychology curricula in German universities. Different fields of psychology have their own sections within the DGPs, for example General Psychology (Fachgruppe Allgemeine Psychologie) and Biological Psychology (Biologische Psychologie und Neuropsychologie).

The DGPA focuses on the interaction of physiological, psychological and social processes.
